Looking west across the Chesapeake Bay from
Stevensville is a spectacular visual experience that
gradually intensifies as the setting sun silhouettes the
bridge and paints the sky. Chesapeake Bay Beach
Club Owner John Wilson developed and opened the
Beach Club in 1999 after earlier recognizing that its
Stevensville site with its panoramic view was perfect for
weddings, receptions and engagement parties, as well
as all types of celebrations, balls, fundraisers, banquets
and corporate gatherings.
The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club soon became the region’s premier waterfront location for all sorts of extraordinary events, but is most widely recognized as a fabulous wedding destination. “The brides and grooms, their families and all the guests who have attended weddings here over the years have become our best salespeople,” says Mr. Wilson. “All these folks were served excellent food and experienced breathtaking scenery at one of our venues. So, they’re telling friends and looking to us for their company picnics, Christmas parties and other gatherings, as well as weddings.”
Designed to accommodate functions of varying styles and sizes, the Beach Club continually refines its facilities and offers four distinctly different venues with sunset views, suitable for customizing each event— three waterfront ballrooms with adjacent ceremonial sites, plus the more casual and diverse Tavern Bayside. Delightful breezes from its clusters of sliding windows make it the perfect venue for everything from corporate crab feasts to upscale picnics and informal weddings.
The smallest of three ballroom venues, the Tavern Ballroom, accommodates 150 guests. A dramatically lit, arched entryway welcomes guests to this warmlydesigned facility with a vaulted wood ceiling, spacious dining area and beautiful dance floor. Its rooftop deck with an all-weather fireplace and bar is a popular choice for a cocktail hour.
The Beach House Ballroom accommodates 200 guests and features two beautifully detailed, spacious rooms with an outdoor waterfront terrace, deck and fireplace. Its recently added high-tech wing is customdesigned with the latest professional audio, telecommunications and projection systems, readying it for a wide variety of audio-visual requirements.
In 2005, Chesapeake Bay Beach Club was the chosen site for the Today Show Hometown Wedding, and its formal sunken garden, elevated just above the Bay’s shoreline, was where the couple exchanged wedding vows. The wedding reception was in the elegant and spacious Sunset Ballroom which accommodates up to 300 guests. Its westward-facing wall of windows captures Bay scenery and sunsets, adding an enchanting aura to this already beautiful room. Features include a large parquet dance floor, vaulted ceiling, recessed lighting and the adjoining, exquisite Garden Room with arched French doors, canopied rooftop deck and indoor and outdoor fireplaces and bars.
Like the sunsets, each wedding event at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club is special and uniquely beautiful. “We want to fulfill every bride’s dream,” says Mr. Wilson, “and have guests walk away, like they do, saying, ‘This is the best wedding I’ve ever been to.’”
Whatever the occasion, size or venue, every event held at the Beach Club is executed with finesse, commitment and the determination to exceed the expectations and visions of the client.
