Jones Junction

Automotive Parts, Sales & Service

Jones Junction It all comes together at Jones Junction—11 new and six used automobile dealerships along with awardwinning, factory‐authorized service and parts, and a full‐service body shop which, together, form Jones Junction, Inc. Vernon Jones still recalls selling cars as a young man in Conowingo, Maryland at a Studebaker dealership which his father, C. M. Jones, established in 1917 and which Vernon and his wife later purchased in 1950.

Thanks to the innovative management skills of both men, the dealership became very successful and, in 163, Plymouth and Nissan, as well as Honda Motorcycles, became part of the Jones family business.

In 1965, Jones Junction moved to its present location, serving the people of Harford County. It added more new franchises in 1966 and implemented a number of innovative business strategies, policies and procedures. Don Kilby joined Jones Junction as a partner in 1981. Today, Jones Junction employs 400 people at a multi‐dealership complex composed of 11 different brands—Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Trucks, Scion, Subaru, Nissan Commercial Vehicles and the most recent addition to the Jones line‐up, KIA.

“Our customers have very high standards and our goal is to always exceed both their sales and service expectations.”

Still today, avid golfers at every level consider this private country club’s par‐73 course to be one of the area’s most beautiful and challenging. More than 50 bunkers, numerous water hazards and varying elevations are encountered amongst its mature trees and throughout its rolling terrain. Club members also appreciate its practice facility and pro shop, as well as the individual and group instructions, clinics and tournaments offered for men, women and juniors by PGA professionals. Each year, the club hosts numerous golf outings and other events for a number of local charitable organizations.

Chairman of the Board, Vernon Jones, is semiretired, which allows him to become more personally involved in community affairs and charitable activities. Mr. Jones and other Jones Junction administrators have long recognized that the company owes its phenomenal success to the people of Harford County.

Jones Junction is extremely appreciative and makes every effort to give back to the community through the many charities that benefit Harford County residents. The company also was a major contributor to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Building Fund, is an enthusiastic benefactor of The MA and PA Heritage Trail and a supporter of The March of Dimes as well as The RAACE Foundation, which functions to raise awareness and promote prevention of child abuse.

Vernon’s three children, Larry, Danny and Beverly Jones, have assumed many of his roles and continue to exhibit his humanitarian values, business philosophies and innovative management style. “Our customers have very high standards and our goal is to always exceed both their sales and service expectations,” says General Manager Bryan Kilby.

Important goals of the company are to change the stereotypical opinion of car dealerships held by many and to gain loyal customers through its Jones for a Lifetime program. First‐time customers are always pleasantly surprised. Included free with any new or used vehicle purchased from Jones is a lifetime engine guarantee, free oil changes and free car washes. Within a 50‐mile radius, Jones offers free pickup of any Jones‐purchased vehicle scheduled for service and delivery of a loaner to the customer's home or place of business. Their serviced and washed vehicle will be delivered back to the customer at no extra charge. Free manicures, Wi‐Fi and other niceties are offered to those bringing their car into the dealership for service.

Because of its endless dedication to achieving customer satisfaction, Jones Junction has become the largest new car dealership in the state of Maryland.
