"I’ve been performing plastic surgery since 1990," says Daniel Laughlin, M.D. "Among the four of us, we have a vast amount of experience."

"We share the same areas of interest," David Lowe, M.D. says of the doctors. "Eighty percent of our practice is the usual cosmetic procedures—facelifts, liposuction, tummy tucks, breast augmentation and reductions—but we deal with the whole gamut of plastic surgery including skin cancers and breast reconstruction. We take care of it all."

The office features in-house operating suites, offering a comfortable, private experience followed by a pampered recovery courtesy of a skilled nursing staff. "The majority of staff has been here many, many years," Dr. Laughlin says. "We don’t have a lot of employee turnover and therefore we are able to provide our patients high-quality care with very experienced personnel."

For the client who wishes to enhance his or her appearance but may not want or need a more invasive surgery, the practice's extensive MediSpa allows Plastic Surgery Specialists to provide a truly full-service experience by adding non-surgical skin treatments like chemical peels, Botox and dermal fillers to its repertoire. "Many patients who are not yet ready for more invasive procedures can benefit greatly from the services offered in our MediSpa," says Christopher Spittler, M.D.

The Plastic Surgery Specialists staff are equipped to handle all patient needs during and after any procedure. Highly-trained nurses are available to go home with the patient, while hotel accommodations can be arranged for out-of-town patients who aren’t quite ready to make the trip home. "We work diligently to meet our patients’ expectations from the initial consultation until the final postoperative visit," Paul Buhrer, M.D., explains. "You always have a doctor available to talk with, as well as a staff of dedicated nurses."

In addition to the main facility in Annapolis, Plastic Surgery Specialists provides consultations at three satellite locations in Easton, Severna Park and Prince Frederick. MediSpa services are offered at the Annapolis, Easton and Severna Park offices.

Choosing a plastic surgeon is a very important decision. "Make sure your surgeon is board certified in plastic surgery," advises Dr. Spittler. "Many surgeons performing cosmetic procedures advertise that they are board certified but this may be in a specialty other than plastic surgery." Each of the four doctors at Plastic Surgery Specialists is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Surgery, allowing them to attain their goal to provide the highest quality care in a professional, relaxed, friendly manner.
