Sitting majestically within the picturesque rural landscape of Salisbury, Maryland, The Fountains Wedding and Conference Center appears on the horizon like nothing less than a magical palace – a citadel of good taste and good times.

Inside, the high ceilings and chandeliers of the Grand Ballroom and the dancing fountains found throughout inform visitors that they have stepped into a realm of elegance and enchantment – confirming that whether it is a wedding reception, corporate meeting, banquet or party that they are planning, The Fountains is indeed, as Sales and Marketing Director Stacie Bowen Desautels describes it, “the perfect place for the perfect day.”

These days The Fountains also offers visitors a chance to sample its superlative food and service, even if they aren’t planning or attending a special event or party - they can enjoy lunch or dinner at The Table, a restaurant and bar recently opened on the premises. “The Table has a casual atmosphere,” says Ms. Desautels, “with a beautiful bar area and patio dining by the fountains outside. The menu changes seasonally and is trendy, but certainly suitable for all tastes. Our specialty crabcakes are phenomenal – just awesome, and we’re open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.”

Opened in the summer of 2005, The Fountains was the culmination of the dream of Chris Davis, a local real estate developer who wanted to bring grace and elegance to the Salisbury area in the form of a first class wedding venue. His goal was to make Salisbury an all-in-one getaway destination for newlyweds and their friends and families, as well as a place at which businesses large and small could find a first class conference center. “We truly are a getaway destination,” says Ms. Desautels, “in that we’re located at routes 50 and 13, close to the beach - what’s been called the crossroads of the Delmarva Peninsula. During the past three years, The Fountains has benefited from a great deal of word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied clients, many of them impressed by the facility’s state-of-the-art sound, lighting and multi-media capabilities, as well as the superlative standards of service to which all personnel are committed – from event planners to servers. As Ms. Desautels says: “This is a very challenging business. When it rains it pours. For example, we might not have an event for three days in a row, but then suddenly we have seven events in two days – but I’m proud that no matter how many hours they put in, our staff always offers consistently good service.”

Another of the benefits associated with booking a reception, banquet or corporate function at The Fountains, which is equipped to handle parties of 20 to 450 people in a variety of settings, is the fact that it is well known for its ability to stage unique theme parties. For example, an Irish themed wedding may very well include Celtic ice sculptures and traditional Irish foods on the menu. A wedding with a beach theme might feature delicate candied seashells on the wedding cake, and real seashells in the bride’s bouquet. But no matter what the event, clients can expect a superior level of service and quality. As Ms. Desautels says, “We work hard with our customers within their budgets prior to their events so that we will exceed their expectations, to ensure they’ll be thrilled with the outcome.”
