Effective wealth management requires a plan that encompasses many different factors and takes a variety of aspects into account. The multi disciplinary practice was founded in 1997 by Harford County natives Bill and Bryan Kelly, and has since grown into a successful family-owned business committed to ensuring the health and growth of the local community. The success of this approach is evidenced by the firm’s growth of more than 20 percent per year for the last 10 years.

Bill Kelly has worked in accounting, tax and financial planning for more than 30 years. He has been a certified public accountant since 1975 and a Certified Financial Planner since 1998.

Bryan Kelly specializes in portfolio management, retirement planning and estate planning, and has also been a Certified Financial Planner since 1998. He began his career as a financial planning associate for a local firm, followed by a successful career at Fidelity Investments where he excelled as one of the firm’s top financial representatives.

Two main divisions—Wealth and Asset Management, and Tax and Accounting Services—comprise The Kelly Group.

Wealth Management helps clients reach their full potential through financial planning, investment portfolio management and coordinated financial services provided by The Kelly Group’s experienced advisors. The Asset Management team implements carefully planned strategies so that a client’s investments, securities and assets work together toward their goals, while also looking for unique opportunities that might benefit the return and overall portfolio.

The Tax and Accounting Services group offers personal tax advice services for individuals, businesses and institutions. Their certified public accountants stay abreast of changes in the income tax regulations and offer personalized guidance, from income return preparation to complex estate returns.

In addition, business accounting consultation provides business clients peace of mind and the ability to focus on their business.

“Essentially, we handle the details so the client can reap the rewards,” says Bill Kelly.

The firm’s thorough and holistic approach guides the process from the start. The first meeting is merely introductory and allows the advisors to learn about the client, both personally and financially. Then they define goals based on the client’s needs and opportunities, as well as risk factors and timelines. These goals are used to develop a plan and set action items to reach those goals.

“We take pride in preparing a customized and coordinated approach specific to each client, which is indispensible in helping to make smart financial decisions,” says Bryan Kelly.
